How modular cabinets combine into a run

Short answer

Every module is 900 mm high and 656 mm deep, and they bolt to each other through the side panels. That shared grid is what makes a run an arithmetic exercise rather than a carpentry one — and it is what lets a module be added next year without rebuilding.

The shared grid

One height, one depth, and width as the only variable. Because the height and depth never change, any module can sit beside any other without packing, scribing or a filler panel.

This is the whole idea. A system where one module is 890 high is not a system, it is a set of cabinets that happen to look similar.

Mechanical, not glued

Modules bolt through the side panels. Nothing relies on adhesive outdoors, which matters because adhesive joints outdoors fail from thermal cycling.

It also means a joint that works loose can be re-tightened rather than replaced.

Adding later

Because the grid is fixed, a module bought next year still lines up. The caveat is colour: coating is matched in batches, so a later addition can be a shade off in strong light.

Where a run is planned in phases, ordering the whole footprint at once avoids that. It is the one argument for buying more than you need this year.

What breaks the system

A one-off depth. A run that steps in and out at the front face is no longer a run.

A non-standard height, even by 10 mm.

Site cutting. An aperture or a vent cut on site is an unfinished edge, which is where outdoor stainless fails.

Questions we get about this

Can modules be added to an existing run?

Yes, as long as the height and depth are current. Colour is matched in batches, so a later addition can be a shade off — order the full footprint at once where an exact match matters.

Can I mix a gas cabinet and a storage module?

Any arrangement works. The venting and gas entry are per module, so the run is a sequence of independent boxes sharing a grid.

Do modules need to be fixed to each other?

They should be. Bolting is what turns a row of boxes into a run that does not move at the joints when someone leans on it.
