Small spaces & balconies
Small spaces and balconies: under 2.4 m, balcony weight limits, and how to get a grill, a sink and storage into a footprint that was never designed as an outdoor kitchen.
The short answer
A 2.4 m run still takes a grill, a sink and storage if you drop the fridge and use a narrower grill cabinet. The constraint is width, not possibility.

What actually fits under 2.4 metres
These are the decisions the guides below keep returning to. Settle them roughly first; the articles then fill in the detail.
A grill bay and one storage module
1,182 mm for the appliance and 400 mm of storage is a complete, working 1.6 m kitchen. Everything beyond that is comfort, not function.
The 400 mm single-door module
It is the only way to land a run exactly on a wall. Three widths — 400, 450 and 500 mm — exist for that job alone.
Balcony load and strata rules
A full run weighs more than a planter, and many buildings have rules about what can stand on a balcony. Check before ordering, not after.
Castors earn their place
On a small terrace the run has to move for cleaning and for anything the building needs access to. A fixed run becomes an obstacle.
The counter as appliance space
A tabletop grill removes the appliance bay, the venting question and 1,182 mm of run. On a balcony it is often the right answer.

Questions this section gets most
If the answer you need is not here, the enquiry form asks for the grill model and the run length and nothing else.
What is the smallest usable run?
About 1.2 m: one 800 mm module plus a 400 mm module. Below that it is a bench with storage rather than a kitchen.
Will the modules fit through a doorway or a lift?
Modules are 656 mm deep and 900 mm high. Check the door width, the lift and any turn on the route before ordering, because castors help on the flat, not on stairs.
Can I use a tabletop grill instead of a built-in?
Yes, and on a balcony it is often the better choice. It removes the appliance bay, the fascia venting and the gas bottle question from the run entirely.
